Dual IC is your VHF and UHF amp, plus band switch

The first two devices in a family of MOS ICs from Vishay combine VHF and UHF amplifiers along with an integrated band switch. The TSDF12830YS has soft-slope AGC with an AGC control range of 3 to 0.5V dc. The VHF amp has forward transadmittance of 28 mS and input capacitance of 2.5 pF, along with cross-modulation better than –105 dBV at 40 dB AGC; the corresponding specifications for the UHF amp are 31 mS, 1.9 pF, and 100 dBV (Picture).

The SOT363 device includes other internal functions, such as antiserial diodes between gate and source to protect the input against excessive voltage, and sells for 10 cents (100,000). Vishay also offers a SOT363(L) version with nearly the same specifications but a different pinout.
