FTC Appeals Rambus Ruling

Online staff -- Electronic News, 3/5/2004

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission this week appealed a U.S. Administrative Law Judge's ruling last week that heavily favored Rambus Inc.

The judge last week issued a 348-page opinion that strongly favored Rambus in the FTC case against the memory interconnect IP company.

The FTC case centered on Rambus's participation in the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association's standardization efforts and the patents Rambus subsequently won.

The appeal will send the case before the full commission, a spokeswoman said.
