Newark Takes Lead-Free Soldering to Net

By Rob Spiegel -- Electronic News, 8/29/2005

Chicago-based component distributor Newark InOne has produced and released three related webinars on lead-free soldering.

The webinar series aims to help design and maintenance engineers understand the issues involved in converting to lead-free solder. The series is also intended to help engineers through product selection in light of RoHS and other emerging environmental regulations.

“We are committed to helping our customers make the transition to RoHS compliance as easy as possible, and lead-free soldering has relevance for just about all of them,” said Paul Tallentire, president of Newark InOne. “There is a real need for specifics and we will continue to present real solutions at our RoHS Express site.”

The first of the webinars, “Lead-free Soldering – Desoldering Issues,” is available at Newark’s RoHS Express site now at no charge. The next two webinars in the lead-free soldering series will be available at the Newark site in September.
