ATI Up 23%

Ontario-based graphics chipmaker ATI Technologies Inc. today announced its financial results for its fiscal Q3, ended May 31.
Revenues for the quarter were $652.3 million, a 23 percent increase over Q3 2005 numbers, ATI said. The company also said that hit a new quarterly record for the total number of units shipped, however, it did not disclose what the new record number was.
The PC segment accounted for $1.5 billion, or 79 percent, of consolidated revenues, while the consumer segment represented $409.9 million, or 21 percent, of consolidated revenues.
"The increase in consolidated revenues was driven by strong sales growth in the consumer segment," the company noted in its statement.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, revenues were $1.92 billion, up 9.3 percent from $1.75 billion in the same period last year.
"In the third quarter, we continued to assert our technology leadership," David Orton, ATI's president and CEO, said in the statement. "In a challenging quarter for the PC industry, we delivered on our key operational objectives of gross margin expansion and improved inventory management. With several important PC and graphics processor advances on the way, we see a number of catalysts that will drive continued excitement and growth for ATI and the industry."
Looking ahead, Q4 revenues are expected to be between $620 million and $660 million, the company said.
