Altera Delays Q2 Filing

Staff Reporter -- Electronic News, 8/11/2006

Altera has delayed the filing of another quarterly report, this time for the quarter ended June 30, pending the completion of its internal review of stock options backdating.

The company also missed filing its Q1 Form 10-Q with the SEC back in May.

The programmable logic provider has said that it is evaluating the impact of its potential restatements of earnings for the fiscal years 1996 through 2005, that it expects the charges to be material, and that they may result in a determination of material weakness.

The company did not offer an estimate of when the investigation is scheduled to conclude, or when it would be able to file its quarterly reports or restate its earnings for the years in question.

Altera released revenue results for Q2 at the end of last month.
