Apple Delays Form 10-Q SEC Filing

Staff Reporter -- Electronic News, 8/11/2006

It’s official: Apple Computer Inc. must delay reporting its financial results due to the ongoing investigation into its stock option grant practices.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based consumer electronics superstar today filed a Form 12b-25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stating it would be unable to file its Form 10-Q for the period ended July 1 by the extended deadline of August 14.

In June, Apple announced that an internal investigation had discovered irregularities related to the issuance of certain stock option grants made between 1997 and 2001.

And last week, Apple said it would have to restate earnings to account for the irregularities, and has yet to reveal when its Form 10-Q will be filed.
