Pin card offers 3.6-Gbps scalability

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2004

Based on the scalable platform architecture of the Agilent 93000 SOC Series ATE systems, the Pin Scale 3600 digital card allows each test-system pin to be configured from 800 Mbps to 3.6 Gbps using software upgrades that can be performed instantly to meet changing test needs. Each pin offers both single-ended and differential I/O test capabilities that make it possible to test a wide range of interfaces including PCI Express, Serial ATA, HyperTransport, and Front Side Bus (FSB). The Pin Scale 3600 card features a test-processor per-pin architecture, which localizes all test processing instead of using centralized resources, resulting in minimal measurement overhead and high throughput. This architecture also delivers a differential-pin edge placement accuracy (EPA) of better than 30 ps.

Price: $1.8 million for a 600-pin 93000 system equipped with Pin Scale 3600 cards supporting 250 high-speed pins. Agilent Technologies, Palo Alto, CA; www.agilent.com/see/pinscale3600.
