USB Data-acquisition Module Measures Volts and Temperature

-- Test & Measurement World, 2/4/2005 9:17:00 AM

IOtech, one of the pioneers of USB data acquisition, has introduced the PersonalDaq/54. The module adds ten single-ended or five differential analog inputs, or five thermocouple inputs to any PC. Channels are individually programmable for voltage or thermocouple inputs.

A 22-bit analog-to-digital converter samples at speeds up to 80 samples/s. The unit provides 500 V of isolation between analog inputs and the USB port. You can power the PersonalDaq/54 from the USB port or from an external 9-V-to-30-V DC power supply.

The PersonalDaq/54 comes with Personal DaqView, a software package that lets you configure the unit and log data to disk. You also get eZ-PostView software for plotting and data anaysis.

Price: $599.
