During the 2006 APEX conference (February 8-10, Anaheim, CA), Digitaltest announced that Primus Technologies has selected the Digitaltest Condor MTS 500 flying prober for testing printed-circuit boards for military and aerospace applications. The Condor is able to probe boards without test points by contacting the component leads. This feature, which Digitaltest refers to as "soft landing," is designed especially for sensitive boards on which any probing marks are prohibited.
The Condor also comes with C-LINK DTM software with more than 64 CAD interfaces for fast generation of test programs.
Has Patel, director of engineering at Primus, commented, "The tester was up and running in two days, which allowed Primus to utilize the system immediately. Primus acquired this system to offer our customers a test option not requiring fixturing and a system that can be utilized for testing CCAs [circuit-card assemblies] where fixturing is not an option. The Condor is flexible, comprehensive in test coverage, and affordable."
