Goepel highlights ECU test and ScanFlex for PXI Express

-- Test & Measurement World, 8/17/2006 5:59:00 AM

Goepel electronic (www.goepel.com) at NIWeek highlighted its prototype 3060 communications module for ECUs; initial versions support PXI Express and PCI platforms. The company also highlighted its new series of SFX ScanFlex JTAG/boundary-scan controllers with PXI Express interfaces.

More news from NIWeek.
The PXIe/PCI 3060 ECU module addresses communication applications for vehicle control units. Based on the MOST IC INIC OS81050 the module will be configurable as Master and Slave. Future applications will support standard functions such as Control Channel, Packet Channel, and Streaming Channel as well as data monitoring via the Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) bus. A number of additional functions are planned, particularly diagnostics via MHP (MOST High Protocol).

The 3060 communication controller will initially be available as plug-in card for the PXI Express and PCI platforms. A stand-alone tool is in development. The PXIe/PCI 3060 has a single MOST interface, an audio-input channel, and an audio output channel.

After SFX controllers for PCI, PXI, USB/LAN and FireWire, the SFX/PXIe1149-(x) is Goepel’s fifth family of ScanFlex controllers--available in three performance classes that differ in the maximum TCK frequency (20, 50, and 80 MHz, respectively). The new controller family’s x1 configuration achieves transfer rates up to 264 MB/s in zero-wait-state burst mode and is based upon the PXI Express hardware specification 1.0, with support for defined Local Bus, trigger, and synchronization methodologies. In combination with additional modular ScanFlex components, PXI Express-based boundary-scan systems with up to eight Test Access Ports (TAPs) can be configured and synchronized with other functional modules. All TAPs provide programmable input and output voltage as well as programmable input and output impedance. Furthermore, resources such as 32 dynamic I/O, two analog I/O channels, three static I/O, and trigger lines are standard features.
