ANAHEIM, CA. ZTEC Instruments chose Autotestcon to demonstrate its new ZT4610 family of digital storage oscilloscopes. Available in PCI, CompactPCI, PXI, and VXI formats. The ZT4610 family offers a 4-Gsample/s real-time sampling rate with 800-MHz analog bandwidth. For higher acquisition rates, either equivalent-time (multi-capture reconstruction) or interpolated-time (single-capture reconstruction) mode can be used to achieve up to 200-Gsample/s operation. Other acquisition modes include waveform averaging, high-resolution, and envelope detection. All multiple-capture modes allow the acquisition of up to 64k waveforms.
With 16-Msample or 64-Msample record length options, the ZT4610 family provides the deep memory required to acquire and visualize complex signals. The deep memory can be used in either continuous or segmented mode. Combined with a pan and zoom capability, continuous-memory mode serves general-purpose troubleshooting and signal inspection. Segmented-memory mode supports the analysis of repetitive signals, such as those found in telecommunication applications. Up to 32k waveforms can be rapidly captured and stored for viewing and analysis. For applications such as ultrasonic imaging, measurement arrays provide real-time segmented memory characterization. In addition to acquisition waveform memory, four 32-ksample nonvolatile reference channels and four 512-ksample calculation channels are also provided. For all waveform memory, auto-decimation downloads can be used to optimize user interface refresh rates.
Like all ZTEC oscilloscopes, the ZT4610 family includes traditional oscilloscope features, such as flexible signal conditioning and advanced triggering. Features such as auto-configuration and self-calibration provide quick instrument setup. The instruments also include an on-board analysis library. Powered by a 64-bit processor, this library includes typical oscilloscope vertical, horizontal, and frequency measurements. Calculations such as FFT and digital filtering are also provided. Measurement capabilities including limit and mask testing, peak detect, measurement statistics, and gated measurements are also provided. Four programmable measurement sets can be used for viewing and storage of frequently used measurements.
Highlighting the ZT4610 family stand-alone usability is the new ZScope 2.0 application software. ZScope 2.0 provides a familiar traditional instrument user interface. The ZT4610 family is built using embedded processor and bus interface technologies to provide high-speed continuous data transfers up to 100 Mbytes/s and 64-bit on-board data processing. For programmatic control, the ZT4610 family has an intuitive driver interface that supports the most commonly used programming languages, such as C and LabView. The driver provides both high- and low-level routines.
The ZT4610 family includes both 2- and 4-channel versions. The 2-channel version, the ZT4611, will be available in PCI and PXI by the middle of Q4 2006. The 2-channel ZT4611 and 4-channel ZT4612 for VXI will be available by the end of Q4 2006. The ZT4611 for PXI is hybrid-slot compatible to support migration to PXI Express.
