Microwave counters operate to 60 GHz

-- Test & Measurement World, 11/21/2006 5:46:00 AM

Pendulum Instruments demonstrated its new CNT-90XL family of microwave frequency counter/analyzers at Electronica 2006. The CNT-90XL includes an integrated power meter; four models cover frequencies to 27, 40, 46, and 60 GHz.

The CNT-90XL is a CW counter with burst capabilities that achieves measurement speeds for power and frequency to 250,000 frequency samples/s. Sensitivity  is better than -33 dBm. A built-in statistical-processing capability presents numerical stability data and also frequency-distribution histograms on-screen for analysis of frequency, power, or modulation. The instrument’s graphical display shows frequency changes over time directly on-screen.

Applications include microwave link carrier calibration, satellite communication equipment testing, radar system testing, YIG and VCO testing, RF and microwave instrumentation calibration, and RF component and module testing.
