Tektronix, SyntheSys Research collaborate on CR module

-- Test & Measurement World, 1/30/2007 7:27:00 AM

Tektronix and SyntheSys Research have made an agreement where Tektronix will offer a clock-recovery (CR) module for its DSA8200 sampling oscilloscope. The 80A07 is based on SyntheSys Research's BERTScope CR module.

The combined DSA8200 and 80A07 cover data rates from 100 Mbps to 12.5 Gbps, which meets the requirements for serial data standards such as Serial ATA, PCI Express, Ethernet (802.3ap, 802.3aq, XAUI, etc), Fibre Channel, High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), and Infiniband.

The CR module uses a phase-locked loop (PLL) to lock on to and recover clocks embedded in data streams. The PLL's tunable loop bandwidth ranges from 100 kHz to 12 MHz.

Price: $40,500.
