Eunil highlights PCB optical inspection

-- Test & Measurement World, 2/27/2007 7:01:00 AM

Eunil H.A. Americas highlighted its SPOIS PCB optical inspection system at APEX (February 20-22, in Los Angeles). The system employs MVTec’s Halcon software.

7.0 to analyze subpixel images accurately, even in the presence of nonlinear illumination changes. SPOIS covers a 36 x 27-mm field of view with its high-resolution 27-micrometer, 1.45-megapixel color camera. The performance of the camera enables adequate information to be obtained for small components such as 0603 and 1005 chips.

SPOIS can be installed at any location on an SMT line, such as after a screen printer, as a solder paste inspection system, before a reflow oven, or after a reflow oven. The OCR function of SPOIS allows letters and numbers on components and PCBs to be read. Also, the system can handle angle-mounted components.
